Creative Strategies for Brighter Tomorrows: Maximizing the Joy in What We Do
This session will focus on the world we have been living in, while providing creative strategies and tools that support maximizing the joy in what we do at National Church Residences for our residents. We will talk about the Covid Hangover, the State of OUR State as leaders of the mission, what brings us joy, how to Embrace the Shake, and apply creative innovation techniques to help us create brighter tomorrows.
Kelly O'Connell Leiker | MBA
Kelly O’Connell Leiker is a Professional Speaker, Executive Coach, and the Owner of Leiker Development. She is currently a professor in the Opus College of Business at the University of St. Thomas in Minnesota where she teaches advanced courses on strategic management, organizational leadership, and change and innovation.
Kelly has worked with National Church Residences for over 7 years and has a true passion for the organization's mission and the truly dedicated people who serve it. Over the past 18 years, she has coached many leaders to help them to look at leadership challenges through a new lens.
Helping leaders think about how they can best lead and inspire others while still taking care of themselves is a passion of hers. Her coaching style is compassionate, honest, encouraging, and application based. When partnering with clients, they will use models, content, and current research to support practical strategies uniquely tailored to each leader.
Kelly has degrees in psychology, and communication and an MBA in business management. She loves a good book, a funny joke, and a restorative yoga class when at all possible. She currently resides in Minneapolis, Minnesota with her family.

COVID affected all those who work in the senior housing and healthcare industry. This program will examine how COVID affected us, as well as resources for coping with grief and supporting grieving families.

Julie Olds | MMC, CT, CFC

Julie Olds, born and raised in Central Ohio, has nearly 20 years experience working in end-of-life industries. She has nearly 15 years working in senior housing and healthcare, and over 10 years working in funeral and grief support services. Julie is a graduate of The Ohio State University with a Bachelors in Allied Medicine, and a graduate of Franklin University with a Masters in Marketing and Communication.
As a member of the International Association for Death Education and Counseling (ADEC), Julie received her Certification in Thanatology in 2018. She then went on to receive her Certification as a Funeral Celebrant in 2022.
One of Julie's biggest accomplishments was receiving the Community Educator Award in 2021 from ADEC - a prestigious award recognizing her efforts in Community Outreach and Education. Another great accomplishment was Julie's organization of the Central Ohio Grief Care Coalition, a resource group comprised of organizations that provide grief care and support to families of Central Ohio.
Julie is married with one beautiful daughter. She enjoyes reading, writing, and public speaking as well as cooking, baking, and enjoying the outdoors.

Caleb Loposser
Caleb Loposser is former United States Air Force Security Forces NCO with deployment time in Iraq. Caleb served six years collecting several certifications including Army Special Response Team. Caleb has nine years’ experience as a law enforcement officer and is a state certified OPOTA instructor. Subject Matter expert in workplace violence mitigation.
